In FeedbackChimp, status change emails are automatically sent to admins and users who have voted on a post whenever the status is updated. These notifications help keep users informed about the progress of feature requests, bug reports, or suggestions, ensuring they stay up-to-date with relevant changes.
How Status Change Emails Work
Status change emails are triggered automatically whenever a post’s status is updated. We recommend adding a comment when changing the status of a post.
You can trigger a status change email by:
- Go to the 'Feedback' tab from your FeedbackChimp dashboard.
- Click on the 'Edit' icon next to the feedback post whose status you want to update.
- Update the post status by navigating to the sidebar on your right and clicking on 'Status'.
- A popup will appear where you can change the status. I
- Toggle to enable the "Notify all voters" option to ensure an email goes out. We also recommend adding a note or comment in the 'Comment' box as shown below.
Here’s how the notifications operate:
- Automatic Notifications: FeedbackChimp sends out emails to all admins and any users who have voted on the post.
- Status Tracking: Each email reflects the new status of the post and includes essential details to keep users in the loop.
- Improving Transparency: These emails help build transparency with your community, ensuring they are aware of key updates as they occur.
Customizing Email Branding
While you can't customize the content of status change emails directly, FeedbackChimp allows you to personalize the branding of all emails.
You can adjust the appearance to match your brand by navigating to Settings → Email Settings and configuring the available options. Learn more about configuring email settings in FeedbackChimp here.
Things to Know
- Only users with access to the board will get notified. If a voter does not have access to a private board, they will not receive status change emails for posts on that board.
- If a user replies directly to the email, the reply is not recorded on the post. They need to click the "View Post" button in the email to add their comments or navigate to the post page. Users who reply to the message from Feedbackchimp will be directed to contact you directly.
- Feedbackchimp admins will not receive a status update email, but status changes are included in your Admin Reports as a regular digest.
- Emails come from [email protected]. Custom email whitelabeling is available through the Branding addon. Contact support to learn more.
