Steps to Integrate Slack with FeedbackChimp
Here’s a step-by-step guide on setting up and managing the Slack integration in FeedbackChimp.
- From your FeedbackChimp dashboard, navigate to Settings and select Integrations.
- On the Integrations page, scroll down to the Communication tools section. Here, you’ll see a list of available apps that integrate with FeedbackChimp. Locate Slack and click on it to start the integration process.
- You’ll be taken to a new page where you can click the Install Slack button. This will redirect you to Slack, where you can connect FeedbackChimp to your Slack workspace.
- Choose the Slack workspace you want to integrate with FeedbackChimp. Once selected, click Allow to authorize the integration.
Once the integration is complete, you should be able to find FeedbackChimp listed under Apps in your Slack workspace. This confirms that FeedbackChimp is now connected to Slack.
Managing the Slack Integration
- Choose a Channel for Notifications: Go back to the Slack Integrations page in FeedbackChimp and select the Slack channel where you’d like feedback updates to appear. Make sure the FeedbackChimp bot is added to this channel to start receiving posts, comments, and feedback notifications.

- A popup will appear in Slack. Here you can choose which post you want to comment on. You can also choose whether it should be an internal comment or a public comment by ticking or unticking the 'Is this an internal comment?' checkbox.
- Click the Add Comment button when you are done.
If you have decided to create an internal comment, you can view it on FeedbackChimp by going to the Feedback tab from your dashboard and opening the post where you added your internal comment. It should be displayed as shown below.
If you have decided to create a public comment instead, you can view it by going to the live feedback portal, and navigating to the post where you left the comment. It should be displayed as shown below.
How to Turn a Message Into a Post in Slack With FeedbackChimp
- Go to the channel where the FeedbackChimp app is allowed to receive posts from.
- Add any message that you want to later turn into a post.
- Click on the three dots next to the message and then select the 'Create a Post' option.
- A popup will appear in Slack. Here you can choose which board to submit your post to, add details about the post, etc. Click the Create Post button when you are done.
Once you have created the post, head over to the feedback board where you have created the post. You should see your new post there.
How to Moderate a FeedbackChimp Post Directly in Slack
If you enabled post moderation, you can easily approve or deny feedback posts as soon as they come in—all without leaving Slack.
- From Slack, head over to the channel that is set up to get updates from FeedbackChimp.
- When a new post is created, you will see a Slack notification with the option to approve or deny the post.
How to Uninstall the Slack Integration
If you need to remove the integration at any point:
- Go to Settings > Integrations in FeedbackChimp.
- Locate Slack and click the Uninstall button.
